After my relaxing six-night stay at the Hilton Barbados Resort, I’m excited to share my detailed Hilton Barbados Resort Review.

My Hilton Barbados Resort Review

To summarize quickly, we had a fantastic stay at the Hilton Barbados Resort. Our stay was exactly what I needed. We woke up to a stunning view from our bedroom balcony each morning and enjoyed evening swims as we watched the most beautiful sunsets. We left the Hilton Barbados Resort relaxed and rejuvenated.

The Hilton Barbados Resort is nestled on Needham’s Point and offers beautiful views of white-sand beaches and Carlisle Bay. Whether you’re booking travel for a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a business trip, this resort caters to all.

Some of my favorite things about the resort were the ample beach chairs (at any time of day), the stunning ocean views, closeness to Carlisle Bay, and the horses nearby (more on that below!).

We visited Barbados for 8 nights and stayed at the Hilton Barbados Resort for 6 of the nights. We stayed on another side of the island (at another Hilton resort) for 2 nights and then moved to the south west side to enjoy being closer to some of the activities that we wanted to enjoy during our Barbados trip.

The Bedrooms at Hilton Barbados Resort

I stayed in an ocean view room, and it was worth the upgrade. Waking up to views of the ocean each morning was the perfect way to start the day.

The room featured a small balcony, comfy bed, flat-screen TV, a bath and a separate walk-in shower. For accessibility, some rooms include a roll-in shower, ensuring everyone can enjoy a comfortable stay.

We spent minimal time in the room as we were by the water, in the water, or on adventures during the day. We booked very late so we were lucky to get an ocean view room. Barbados hotels are on the expensive side compared to places like Mexico so I highly recommend booking well in advance (something I’m working on for 2025!).

Hilton Barbados Resort Restaurants Review

Breakfast

I had breakfast multiple days at the hotel’s Lighthouse Terrace Restaurant. For breakfast, I opted for the a la carte menu instead of the buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast was $30 USD per person at the time of my stay. They had so many options to choose from at the buffet. My favorite part of the breakfast was enjoying the serene views of the ocean. I enjoyed an omlette from their extensive a la carte menu.

On one or two days, we were going out on excursions so I bought a fruit cup and banana bread from the Cuppa Cafe. They had lots of snacks to go, which was helpful if we wanted a snack by the pool or on the go. The banana bread was the best banana bread that I have ever tasted! I treated myself to it multiple days.

Lunch

We were generally out and about on the island for lunch. On the day of arrival, we had pizza from the Water’s Edge Beach Bar while we waited for our room. We travelled in November so we were avoiding a thunderstorm!

We also got a sandwich to go from the Water’s Edge Beach Bar and enjoyed it by the beach lounge chairs one day. During our stay, you needed to go up to the bar to order as the service was just at the restaurant instead of on the beach and by the pool. It was easy to pop up to the bar so we were fine with that.

Dinner

We dined at The Grille which is Bajan Inspired. This was definitely the most lux restaurant on the property. We enjoyed a three course meal and every course was delicious. I had salad to start and delicious salmon for my main. For dessert, I had the deconstructed banana baked alaska and salted caramel ice-cream. Growing up, my aunt used to make baked alaska so I found so room for it!

The food was delicious at this restaurant and some of the best food that I enjoyed on the island. I finished all three courses which is a rarity for me! As you can see from the pictures, the food looked delicious. I also loved the decor in the restaurant. It was very elevated and really felt special.

We were there on a busy night for the restaurant so it took about 2.5 hours for the 3 course meal. We were on island time so had lots of time. If you are booking The Grille, leave some extra time incase it is a busy night.

The Hilton Barbados Resort also has a bar onsite called the Careenage Bar. It has a relaxed vibe with gorgeous sunsets. We heard live music from the bar on one of the nights that we ate at The Grille. The female singer was so talented!

Hilton Barbados Resort Spa Review: Eforea Spa

One of my favorite moments that I have to call out in this Hilton Barbados Resort Review was a visit to the Hilton Barbados Resort spa which is called Eforea Spa. The location of the spa was so good; I simply popped down from my room, enjoyed the treatment, and then stepped outside to soak in the ocean views and relax by the pool.

Whether you need to unwind after swimming or simply want to take your vacation experiences to the next level, Eforea Spa is a must-visit. The massage at Eforea Spa at the Hilton Barbados Resort was so relaxing. I enjoyed a few minutes in the sauna before my treatment and relaxed in the relaxation room after my treatment for a few minutes. They had delicious cookies in the relaxation room too! I was eager to get back out to the sun so I enjoyed some further relaxation by the pool.

I also saw that Eforea Spa at Hilton Barbados Resort offers manicures and pedicures. If you run out of time before your vacation or need a touch up while on vacation, I highly recommend you pop to Eforea Spa at Hilton Barbados Resort.

Hilton Barbados Resort Location

One of the reasons why this is such a positive Hilton Barbados Resort Review is because of the Hilton Barbados Resort location.

Located at Needham’s Point, the Hilton Barbados Resort is conveniently close to cultural sites, white-sand beaches, and lively areas like St. Lawrence Gap. The resort’s proximity to Carlisle Bay makes it a short walk to one of the most popular places for snorkeling and exploring marine life. There is also a great scuba diving shop a 5 min walk away, which my boyfriend enjoyed multiple mornings (Barbados Blue Dive Shop).

There is a travel desk onsite who will help book you into excursions or book a rental car. We booked some excursions ourselves and booked a car through the travel desk. As the Hilton Barbados Resort is close to Bridgetown and very central, lots of the tour companies offer complimentary pick up from the hotel. We took advantage of the hotel pick-up from two different tour companies as taxis are on the more expensive side.

There is free parking if you rent a car and there is always a taxi outside to bring you on your next adventure.

We choose the Hilton Barbados Resort for it’s proximity to Carlisle Bay and some of the places that we wanted to visit. The water is also better for swimming compared to the east side of the island. Overall, we thought the location of Hilton Barbados Resort was excellent.

Hilton Barbados Resort Day Pass

For those not staying overnight, the Hilton Barbados Resort offers a day pass, granting access to the beach area, pools and towels. It’s a great way to enjoy the resort’s amenities and relaxation without committing to a full stay.

I got some questions about the Hilton Barbados Resort Day Pass when I posted on Instagram during my stay. You can read more on the types of Hilton Barbados Resort Day Passes offered here. I had a look on Resort Pass and this was the only hotel in Barbados that I saw was offering a day pass. I’d recommend the Hilton Barbados Resort day pass as the pools and beach front lounge chairs are really beautiful.

Is Hilton Barbados Resort All-Inclusive?

The Hilton Barbados Resort is not an inclusive resort. Instead, the Hilton Barbados Resort offers a variety of special offers and packages that include breakfast or dining credits.

Swimming Horses by the Hilton Barbados Resort

I may have partially chosen the Hilton Barbados Resort because of how close it was to the horses swimming in the water every morning. If you are a regular reader or follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I am slightly horse obsessed. Horse racing is massive in Barbados and has been a sport since 1845 when Barbados was part of the British Empire.

You can enjoy a day at the races while on your Barbados vacation. You’ll enjoy music, get a glimpse into the rich culture and see the most beautiful horses. You can enjoy an afternoon at the races at historic Garrison Savannah! Luckily, this is a quick walk from the hotel and takes place most Saturdays. Expect street food, parades, picnics and partying. Both locals and visitors enjoy a day at the races.

Garrison Savannah is one of the oldest horse racing tracks in the Americas and part of the UNESCO world heritage site.

Every morning at 6am, the horses from the nearby Garrison Savannah come to swim and bathe in the warm water near the hotel. It’s a 5 minute walk to where they swim (by the Radisson) and definitely worth getting up for. Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays are the days that most horses come to swim according to some locals.

I got up early on 2 different mornings to see the horses. One trainer allowed me to ride up and down the beach on the horse. I was beaming and in my element. Have some cash ready for a tip.

Separately, I swam with a horse on another beach as part of a private experience. It was a magical experience! More to come on this experience soon.

Restaurants near the Hilton Barbados Resort

Before finishing my Hilton Barbados Resort Review, I wanted to share some restaurants near the Hilton Barbados Resort that I would recommend for dining outside the resort:

  • Buzo Osteria Italiana: delicious Italian food. I loved the lasagne.
  • Tapas: A casual spot offering incredible views of the ocean.
  • La Cabane: A pretty beach side restaurant (they also do sunset yogas some evenings).
  • Le Shack Restaurant: a french restaurant with delicious food. It’s the other side of the island so only go if you have a car as a taxi will cost $50USD.
  • Oistin’s Fish Market: both locals and tourists enjoy local fish at this market. It’s very casual and more of a cultural experience with tasty food.

Hilton Barbados Resort Review: My Final Thoughts

As you can see from this positive Hilton Barbados Resort Review, we enjoyed our 6 night stay. The unbelievable views, friendly team, and proximity to activities and cultural sites make this hotel a great choice for your Barbados trip. Sunsets were unreal, and the ability to walk to nearby attractions added to the convenience.
