Do you want your Napa trip to be as dreamy as you’ve always imagined? Look no further, this Napa River Inn Review will tell you all about one of the best downtown Napa hotels. Napa River Inn is a luxurious, boutique hotel with amazing river views and guest rooms.
I recently had the pleasure of being hosted by Napa River Inn on my Napa adventures. Everything about our stay was so easy, relaxing and memorable. I have stayed in Napa many times and this was one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed at.

Napa River Inn Location – Historic Napa Mill
Napa River Inn is located in the heart of downtown Napa in the Historic Napa Mill. The Historic Napa Mill dates back to the 1800s. The building is soaked in charm and is the most picturesque, quaint location for a Napa getaway.
Steps from the hotel, you’ll find everything you need including delicious French cuisine at Angele, Art by the Riverbend Performance Plaza, specialty cakes at Sweetie Pies, local artisan goods at Amelia’s and much more unique finds at the Napa General stores. Everything you need are steps from your cozy bedroom at Napa River Inn.

The Guest Rooms at Napa River Inn
We stayed in a Plaza Deluxe room and it was so beautiful! Hopping into the plush, cloud-like bed with the fire blazing after a day exploring was heavenly. The room had a luxurious, historical feel married with modern day amenities. Our beautiful room was equipped with luxury bathrobes, slippers, bottled water, local Napa toiletries and Napa River views from the balcony. The Plaza Deluxe rooms are in the Plaza building.
There are sixty-six guest rooms at Napa River Inn spread between 3 diverse buildings along the waterfront. Before staying at Napa River Inn, I had passed the hotel on a walk of the river and always thought it looked so pretty. The balconies surrounded by blooming flowers and greenery is the prettiest site.

There are two other types of Deluxe rooms at Napa River Inn – the Historic Deluxe and the Embarcadero Deluxe. The Historic Deluxe has old school charm and almost reminds me of a castle bedroom. The Historic Deluxe rooms are located within the main historic Hatt Building. They are spacious rooms and feature a king canopy bed, fireplace, slipper-backed bath tub, separate walk-in shower and a relaxing sitting area. This is another beautiful room!
The Embarcadero Deluxe is similar to the room I stayed in, but is in the Embarcadero building. There are also balconies and river views from the Embarcadero Deluxe rooms. These rooms include a Queen Bed, fireplace, river view and balcony. This is a perfect room for guests looking for a cozy stay.

To see all the room types and to book your own relaxing stay, visit the Napa River Inn website here.
All of the rooms are within easy walking distance of downtown. The river views in the guest rooms are so picturesque. My overall score for our room was a 10. I loved everything and it was so so cozy! I highly recommend picking a room with a fireplace.
The Amenities at Napa River Inn
I have mentioned lots of the amenities that I loved above. My favorite amenities at Napa River Inn were the plush bathrobes, slippers and the fireplace, which made the room and stay so cozy!
Mornings were spent relaxing and catching up with my family in the luxury room. Freshly baked pastries from Sweetie Pies Bakery were delivered by room service each morning and they were DELICIOUS! There is a Keurig coffee maker and tea maker in the room so you can have a relaxing morning in your room.

The bathroom was equipped with everything you may possibly need including plush towels, a hair dryer, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, cotton pads and more.

Everything was so easy at Napa River Inn, from the free parking to the deliveries of freshly baked pastries. The concierge service is available to help you with any questions on your adventures. There is so much to explore and learn about Napa so make sure to use this service.
There is also free wifi throughout the hotel and a gift shop downstairs. Lots of Napa hotels have resort fees so watch for this when booking Napa hotels. There is no resort fee at Napa River Inn, which is amazing considering all that is offered by the hotel.

There are also free shuttle services offered by this luxury Napa hotel. The shuttle is available on a first-come, first-served basis and can transport guests anywhere in Napa city limits. You can’t book the shuttle to take you to the wineries. It’s best to arrange your own transportation for that. There are lots of options including tour buses, private drivers or Ubers.

Napa River Inn Spa
Napa River Inn has a spa on site which is the perfect way to add some pampering into your downtown Napa stay. The spa has a long list of relaxing facials, massages and body treatments, such as a hydrating butter body wrap. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I love trying out new spas. I didn’t have time to try out the spa this trip, but maybe next trip!
The Napa River Inn Spa has all the usual treatments with some extra special relaxing touches added. There are also amazing packages that are available if you want the ultimate relaxation. The spa uses NV beauty products, which is a local Napa Valley beauty brand.
What to do during your stay at Napa River Inn
There is so much to do during your stay at Napa River Inn. A trip to Napa Valley can be as busy or as relaxing as you like. Exploring downtown Napa, wine tasting, and spending some downtime in your beautiful bedroom by the fireplace should be high on your list of what to do while staying at the historic Napa River Inn.

As I mentioned above, this fabulous downtown Napa hotel is located in the Historic Napa Mill. You’ll have beautiful river views, wine tasting, live music, a wine shop, local restaurants, and more within a few steps. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Napa which is a great location to be able to explore downtown Napa on foot. Napa mill has an interesting history and is well worth exploring.
Napa River Inn offers a complimentary concierge service. The concierge will be able to help you plan extra activities that you will love. There is so much to do in Napa Valley other than wine tasting. It’s so helpful that this boutique Napa Hotel is in a great location as there are so many activities that are a short drive away. Stop by the front desk to avail of this service.

If you love exploring the arts, Napa Valley Opera House and Napa Valley Uptown Theater are nearby. There are also lots of galleries to browse through in quaint towns such as St. Helena and Yountville which are a short drive away.
For some pampering time, book yourself into the Napa River Inn Spa which will have you incredibly relaxed. After your treatment, go read a book by the cozy fire in your plush room. The perfect way to relax.
There are so many amazing local restaurants to try in Napa Valley. You’ll have a hard time choosing as the standards are incredibly high. The main street offers great options and there are also hidden gems tucked away throughout Napa. Morimoto, Angele restaurant, Celadon and Kenzo restaurants come highly recommended and are steps away.
The Oxbow Public Market is a must. I love wandering around exploring the local food selections. There is everything from pizza to cheeses to wine to little gifts. If you have any foodie friends that you want to gift, then pick up something from here. This is a great place to end a day of wine tasting. There are lots of options for everyone here.
The downtown area is the perfect place to explore and unwind after a day of exploring. On the weekends, you’ll find lots of live music also.
Napa River Inn is 5 blocks from the Napa train so would be a perfect base for a day on the Napa train.
