It felt like the perfect escape, surrounded by beautiful design, cozy features, and that easy, thoughtful kind of wine country hospitality that makes everything feel effortless. A special thank you to Appeallation Healdsburg for hosting us.

Appellation Healdsburg is a new property, and you can really feel that in the design, the layout, and the overall experience. If you have been reading Appeallation Healdsburg Reviews and are wondering if it is worth it, I highly recommend it! If you want a luxury Healdsburg hotel that feels calm, modern, and very luxurious, this hotel is a great option.
Where is Appellation Healdsburg and why the location is so good?
Appellation Healdsburg is located in Sonoma County, close to the town of Healdsburg and near many of the region’s top tasting rooms. It is an easy weekend getaway if you live in Northern California, and it also works well as a quick trip if you are visiting San Francisco and want a luxury night or two after exploring the city.

You also have easy access to nearby wine regions like Dry Creek Valley, which is ideal if your plans include wine tastings. Overall, the location of Appeallation Healdsburg makes it simple to do a mix of relaxing at the hotel and exploring the local area without feeling like you are spending your whole weekend driving.
First impressions at Appeallation Healdsburg: check-in, welcome drink, and thoughtful touches
From the moment we arrived at Appeallation Healdsburg, the hotel felt warm and welcoming. The front desk team made check-in easy, and we were greeted with a welcome drink plus a welcome bite from the kitchen. It was a small touch, however, it made the check in memorable.
Throughout our visit, the experience felt consistent in that same way. The hotel staff were genuinely kind and attentive, and the service never felt forced. You could tell that the team really cares about welcoming guests.
Appellation Healdsburg Review: The new design and overall atmosphere
The design at the stunning new Healdsburg resort is one of the biggest reasons this hotel stands out. It feels modern and elevated, but still cozy and comfortable.
This is an 8.5-acre property, and the landscaping adds to the retreat feeling. There are culinary gardens, an olive grove, and natural beauty is everywhere. I loved the feeling of walking through the resort and noticing the canopy of trees and the little details.

If you are the kind of person who appreciates design, you will notice the work of the design team immediately. It is beautifully designed and of such high quality.
Appellation Healdsburg Rooms Review: what to expect and what I loved
The guest rooms are comfortable, bright, and designed to feel calming and relaxing. Many of the hotel rooms have a calm, airy feel with floor-to-ceiling windows, which really adds to the overall style of the room.
Room sizes vary, so if space matters to you, it is worth checking the square feet listed when booking. There is a 300-square-foot entry-level option, and then larger categories depending on what you choose. We loved the layout and the way the room felt both cozy and fresh.

A few details I loved:
- The views of the pool and vineyard from our bedroom
- The comfy bed and pillows
- The wine fridge and complimentary bottle of wine
- Great lighting and a relaxing overall flow
- Easy access to room service if you want a quiet night in
It is the kind of room where you can genuinely relax and spend time reading and enjoying the beautiful decor. Between the design, the comfort, and the peaceful feel, it was the perfect place to get lost in my book with a cup of tea!

Pools and jacuzzis: perfect even in cooler months
Appeallation Healdsburg has two pools and two jacuzzis, and we used them both. Even in cold temperatures in February, it was warm enough for a quick swim, which felt like such a treat. The jacuzzi was heavenly, especially in the evening when we wanted to relax before dinner.

If you love hotels where you can dip in and out of the pool area with little effort, you will love the pools. One of the pools and jacuzzi are adults only so you can enjoy quiet time. There are ample towels and sun loungers surrounding the pool.
Terroir Spa at Appeallation Healdsburg: a calm, wellness-focused experience
The spa at Appeallation Healdsburg is called Terroir Spa, and it fits the overall brand perfectly. There are dedicated treatment rooms, and it is the kind of place where a treatment can turn your weekend into a true reset.

The treatments at Terroir Spa are designed to connect guests to the local environment, featuring personalized massages, facials, and body rituals.
All spa treatments include a complimentary foot bath with magnesium salts and seasonal herbs. Guests can access the Serenity Pool and jacuzzi on the day of their treatment.
I didn’t have a chance to enjoy a spa treatment on this stay, however, look forward to returning and visiting the spa.
Dining at Appellation Healdsburg: Folia Bar and Kitchen
Dining is a major part of what makes Appellation Healdsburg special. It really does feel like a culinary hotel, not just a hotel that happens to have a restaurant.
Dinner at Folia Bar and Kitchen
We had dinner at Folia Bar and Kitchen and enjoyed the three-course fix-prix menu. We were welcomed with a fancy strawberry spritz, which was such a nice treat.
We started by sharing a salad and a pasta as the first course. For the main course, we shared the black cod fish of the day. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake and the lemon meringue pie.
We sat at the chef’s table, and it was such a cool experience. It felt like dinner and a show because you are so close to the kitchen. The creations kept flowing throughout the night, and it made the entire meal feel more interactive and memorable.

You will see references to the hotel’s connection to Michelin-starred Chef Charlie Palmer. It feels like a signature Charlie Palmer restaurant experience, with an open kitchen of a Michelin-starred restaurant and that extra attention to ingredients and presentation. We loved our meal at Folia Bar and Kitchen and would highly recommend it for an enjoyable evening out.
Sunday brunch at Folia Bar and Kitchen
We also ate at Folia Bar and Kitchen for brunch on Sunday morning and had a delicious spread. My favorite was the crème brûlée bread pudding. It was unbelievable, and it was the perfect way to end the weekend. I would definitely stop by for brunch on the way to a winery again.

Andys Beeline Rooftop: sunset views, cocktails, and wine
The rooftop bar is called Andys Beeline Rooftop, and it is one of those places you will want to visit at least once during your stay. The sunset views are excellent, and it is such a relaxing way to start the evening. It’s also perfect for a relaxing cocktail after dinner.

They serve delicious cocktails and have an extensive wine selection. If you love trying local wines, this is a great place to enjoy a glass of pinot noir and relax as the sky changes.
Fitness center and amenities
If you like keeping up with workouts while you travel, the hotel has a fitness center and a good gym setup.
Yoga is offered Saturday mornings and when we were there, there was a meditation and sound bath class on. The resort also has special events so check out their events page before your trip.
Parking and practical notes

Parking onsite is easy with ample spaces. Valet is also offered. The parking is just a minute’s walk from reception. The parking is included in the nightly resort fee.
Appeallation Healdsburg has packages that offer discounts for multiple night stays, bundle dining credits or spa inclusions, which can include generous savings. For the latest rates, visit the Appeallation Healdsburg offer page.
