What are ManiMe nails?
To start off this ManiMe review, I wanted to explain exactly what ManiMe nails are. ManiMe nails are custom, stick on gel nails. You take photos of your nails, upload them to the ManiMe website and your custom gel stick on nails arrive at your door within days.
Through these photos of your nails, ManiMe knows the exact size of press on nails for you. ManiMe nails can be applied at home, in minutes by yourself (no UV light or any extra equipment needed). ManiMe nails are so easy to apply and can last up to two weeks if applied properly. Keep reading for my top tips on how to apply ManiMe nails.
My overall ManiMe nails review
I have tried 15 pairs of ManiMe nails at this point and in short, this is a very positive ManiMe review. ManiMe is such an innovative way to do your nails at home, at whatever time of the day you want AND wherever you want. These are the best gel stick on nails that I have tried.
There are amazing ManiMe nail art designs to choose from and new ManiMe designer collaborations launch every single month. The Los Angeles based company is going to explode over time!

Mani Me Review: Nail Designs
As I mentioned earlier in my ManiMe review, I love the unique nail designs you can choose for your ManiMe stick on gel nails. There are so many beautiful ManiMe nail art designs to choose from.
I live in San Francisco and nail art like ManiMe designs cost so much to get done professionally. It’s also hard to find nail art this good!
I mostly have ordered the ManiMe nail art as it is so unique.
ManiMe Review: Solid Colors
While I love ManiMe nail art designs, the solid color stick on nails are cheaper and are beautiful. There are so many nail colors to choose from. The ManiMe solid colors are applied the exact same as the ManiMe nail art designs. As always with ManiMe, the solid color stick on nails are custom made to match your exact nails.

ManiMe Review: Ordering ManiMe nails
The ManiMe ordering process is really straightforward and takes a few minutes. You need to take a few photos of your nails and you are good to go.
You are instructed on each exact picture needed, step by step. You will need a business card or a credit card nearby as you will hold this while taking your pictures. This gives the proprietary 3D technology a reference to sizing and helps to create your custom stick on ManiMe manicure. The custom fit is what makes these gel stickers, the best press on nails.
I uploaded photos of my nails once and all of my 15 pairs have been the perfect fit.
If you have ever tried other press on nails, this will be a different experience. My ManiMe nails fit perfectly. If there are any issues with the sizing of your ManiMe stick on nails, contact customer service and they will be able to help you out.
Remember, if it’s your first time ordering from ManiMe, use my ManiMe promo code LORNA to get 20% off your first purchase.
What comes with your ManiMe manicure kit in addition to the stick on gel nails?
Your ManiMe nails will come with:
- Your custom ManiMe nails
- A ManiMe nail file
- An alcohol wipe (prep pad)
- A wooden cuticle stick
ManiMe also sell a base coat and a top coat. I would purchase these to make your ManiMe gel nails last longer. It isn’t essential that you use the ManiMe base coat and top coat, but I have found that they definitely last longer when I use both of these.
If you have any base or top coat at home, you can try these first. I use this ManiMe kit as it has everything I need and LOVE it!

ManiMe application process
As I mentioned earlier in this ManiMe review, I have tried a LOT of ManiMe nails and stick on nails in general. Read the below ManiMe instructions and tips BEFORE you apply your Mani.Me nails. If you are only buying your ManiMe nails now, bookmark this blog post to come back to it later.
I have got MUCH faster at the application process as I have now applied 15 pairs of ManiMe gel stick on nails. I get about 2 weeks out of each pair of ManiMe stick on nails.
When I applied my first pair of ManiMe nails, I got about a week out of them and one lifted after a couple of days. This is because I didn’t follow the instructions below. It’s very straightforward to apply, once you follow the below instructions. I was a little eager applying my first set of ManiMe manicures and didn’t follow the proper instructions.
On the website, ManiMe notes that the application process takes minutes. I have got the application process down to just under 30 minutes. It’ll seem like a whole process the first time you apply, then you will get much quicker. The same with everything in life!
I could probably apply a bit faster, but I always listen to music, have candles lit and have a relaxing time when I am having a ManiMe nails night. Doing a manime manicure is one of my favorite ways to relax.
I recommend ordering a cheaper solid and a fun design in your first order. Practice with the cheaper solid first.

How to apply ManiMe nails:
By now, I have the application process of ManiMe nails nailed (pardon the pun). I tweaked a couple of things over my year of using ManiMe and here are my top tips on how to apply ManiMe.
ManiMe Alcohol wipe
The ManiMe alcohol wipe is ESSENTIAL! It is a prep pad that is the perfect first step to long lasting nails. It comes with your mani me press on nails and really makes an impact. I forgot to use this once and noticed a difference in how long I got out of my press on nails.
Mani Me Base Coat
I love using the ManiMe base coat to protect my nails. My own nails have not broken since I started using the ManiMe base coat. This is not essential but I use it to strengthen my own nails. I also want to get the longest I can out of my gel stickers so take this extra 3 minute step.
Placement of ManiMe stick on nails
When you are applying your ManiMe stick on nails, make sure you are applying to the nails and NOT the skin. Hold the stick on gel nail right above your nail before pressing down. Hold the nail for 30 seconds and press down to really adhere the nail sticker. I like to stick on one hand of nails before starting to clip away.
If you find that your ManiMe custom nails are not the perfect fit, reach out to customer care and they will help out. These are the best gel stick on nails that I have tried and have customer service to match.
ManiMe Nail Clippers
I recently started using the ManiMe nail clippers and found this so much easier than bending the excess ManiMe sticker over and filing down. This gives a much smoother finish and does not leave rugged edges on the ManiMe nails. If there is a little you need to file to shape, then do this after clipping. I usually am happy with the shape of my nails after clipping, followed by a quick sweep of the nail file. I did have regular (old) nail clippers in the bathroom and this wasn’t strong enough to clip through.
I love this ManiMe kit as it has everything you need to keep your gel stickers strong and in place. It also includes a Mani Me Nail Clippers.

ManiMe top coat
I use the ManiMe top coat after I apply the ManiMe gel nails. This 100% makes the stick on nails last longer. I also apply another top coat 5 days later to get even more time from my ManiMe press on nails.

When to apply ManiMe press on nails?
I find that when I apply the ManiMe nails right before bedtime, they last longer. It gives the custom press on nails 8 hours to stick. Avoid wetting your hands for at least an hour after applying the press on nails.
Mani me nails are stick on nails and are stickers so they do not break. They also help to keep your own nails strong as they protect your nails underneath.
What happens if a ManiMe nail falls off?
This may happen with your first set before you become a pro at applying. You are given an extra 5 press on nails in case one of your ManiMe nails falls off or if one is popping up. Follow the process above when replacing.
For your first set, I would recommend buying a solid color (a cheaper first set), then move on to the slightly more expensive art design gel stickers. Some of the designer sets can be on sale for as low as $7.50.
What is the removal process for ManiMe nails?
I use the ManiMe cleanser which takes my Manime manicure off in minutes. No sitting there for 10 minutes like at a nail salon when removing gel. You can peel them off easily without damaging your own nails.
How do ManiMe nails compare to a salon gel manicure?
Now that we have been through my top tips on how to apply ManiMe nails, it’s time to get a little more into the details of my ManiMe review. I started using ManiMe about a year ago and have been to the salon to get my nails done only ONCE since!
Then I remembered why going to the salon bugged me. It takes so long!
Why ManiMe gel nails are better than visiting a nail salon
I FAR prefer ManiMe nails than going to the salon. ManiMe nails are so handy. I can do them at 10pm watching a TV show, in my pjs with candles and wine. I can do them anytime that suits me from the comfort of my own couch.
I am always trying to fit in a gel manicure at the salon and think of it more as a to-do, rather than an enjoyable experience. I also find removing salon gel manicures to be time consuming and so damaging for my nail beds. With ManiMe nails, they are so easy to take off. I use the ManiMe remover and they are off within 3 minutes with no damage to my nails. You can use a regular remover too or simply peel the nails off (without damaging your nail beds).
ManiMe custom nails are also FAR cheaper than nail designs at salons. At the time of writing this, ManiMe nails range from $7.50 to $25 and they have the most beautiful designs to try. If I was to get these designs done in San Francisco, they would cost more than double, if not triple the price of ManiMe.
I 100% prefer ManiMe than going to the nail salon. As you can see, this is a glowing ManiMe review. These are the best gel stick on nails that I have tried and know you will love them too.

No UV light or UV lamp is needed. They are gel nails, but press on gel nails meaning the design or color is already set. No UV needed.
Is there a dry time for ManiMe nails?
If you apply the ManiMe top coat, then I would wait 5 minutes for them to dry. Otherwise, they are stick on so no dry time is required.
How long do ManiMe nails last?
My first set lasted a week because I didn’t know the above top tips and learnt them over time. Now, my ManiMe nails last about 2 weeks when I take care putting them on and following the tips above. From the ManiMe website, it notes your ManiMe manicure should last about 7-10 days.
Do ManiMe nails work on short nails?
Yes, ManiMe nails work on short nails. The nails will look long on the package, but you clip them down or file them down in minutes to fit your unique length.

ManiMe nails take me just under 30 minutes to apply. I could go faster, but I really enjoy the process and this way I get about 2 weeks out of the ManiMe nails.

ManiMe has proprietary 3d technology which will capture this. ManiMe nails are custom so are printed to match your unique nail shape. All nail shapes welcome 🙂
