Olaplex 4D Review

I have tried a LOT of dry shampoos over the years. A lot left my hair in a worse condition than I started with – think chalky, white roots. Not the look I was going for!

When I heard Olaplex were bringing out dry shampoo, I was VERY excited. If you are a regular reader, you’ll know that I LOVE Olaplex products. I have been using them religiously since 2020 and have written many reviews on my Olaplex favorites.

I’m going to spill the beans early in this Olaplex 4D review – the new Olaplex dry shampoo is amazing and everything you need in a dry shampoo. One of the best things about Olaplex is that it leaves no white residue!

Have you ever had to vigorously rub in dry shampoo hoping that the white cast will disappear. You can simply spritz on Olaplex dry shampoo, wait 30 seconds and gently massage in. This is the first dry shampoo I have tried where I didn’t need to remove a white residue.

What are the benefits of Olaplex 4D Dry Shampoo

As I mentioned above, no white residue is a top priority for me when choosing a dry shampoo. Olaplex has checked this box. Regardless of your hair color, you will not see any white residue as it sprays as a white mist.

Another amazing thing about this new dry shampoo from Olaplex is that it is suitable for all hair types and the ultra-fine micro starch works to absorb excess oil. This creates an airy lift and soft hair. There is (thankfully) no pore-clogging build up like with other dry shampoos that I have tried.

Olaplex 4D dry shampoo contains rambutan seed extract which is a sustainable source of detoxifying antioxidants. This works to neutralize odor-causing pollutants and impurities. It also soothes the scalp. Your scalp health does not have to suffer using dry shampoo any more – healthy scalp here we come!

If you have oily scalp or want to add some volume to third-day hair, this new Olaplex dry shampoo is a really effective way to skip a wash day to add a bit of volume, without the powdery residue of some other dry shampoo formulas. olaplex’s formula is spot on for a dry shampoo.

Bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate is one of the key ingredients in all Olaplex products. It works to rebuild broken bonds, which repairs the hair. I have been using bond builders since 2020 and really notice the difference. This is the first-ever dry shampoo that I have used that gives me clean hair and also helps to repair my hair at the same time.

How to use Olaplex Dry Shampoo

Using Olaplex 4D dry shampoo is very easy and quick. Use on dry hair that needs a touch up.

• Shake Olaplex 4D well before using. Separate your hair into sections (I usually focus mostly on my middle parting).
• Hold the bottle 6-10” away from hair and spray onto roots. You can spritz in short bursts
• Wait 30 seconds after applying Olaplex dry shampoo and massage into the scalp.
• You’ll be pleasantly surprised by no powdery roots or white cast. The Olaplex dry shampoo adds weightless body from first time spritz. There will be no gritty build up after using this new dry shampoo.

When to use Olaplex 4D dry shampoo

Use Olaplex 4D dry shampoo between wash days or on clean, dry hair to amplify first-day styles. Olaplex dry shampoo can be used on any hair type and hair colors.

I love the scent of Olaplex dry shampoo! It is a light scent and not too over powering like some other dry shampoos.

I mentioned some key ingredients above such as rambutan seed extract, which helps to maintain a healthy scalp by soothing the scalp. The ultra-fine micro starch assists with absorbing excess oil and the hero Olaplex ingredient, bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, helps to repair broken bonds.

The Olaplex dry shampoo is cruelty free, vegan, gluten free, nut free, paraben free, PH balanced, phosphate free, phthalate free and sulfate-free.

In case you have heard recent reports on benzene in dry shampoos, Olaplex have test results that show benzene was not detected (<0.1 ppm).

My overall Olaplex 4D Dry Shampoo review

As you can see this is a glowing Olaplex 4D dry shampoo review. I love the clever dry cleansing technology which results in a quick and easy reduction of oil, with no powdery residue. It is definitely the best dry shampoo that I have tried.
