Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector Review
Olaplex Hair Perfector is the global bestseller for Olaplex and I am definitely not surprised. If you are picking one hair product to treat yourself to, then I would choose Olaplex 3 hair treatment.
Olaplex 3 Hair Perfector is an at-home hair treatment that reduces breakage and visibly strengthens hair. This Olaplex treatment isn’t a conditioner or a replacement for a conditioner.
Olaplex 3 will restore your hair’s healthy appearance and texture by repairing damage and protecting hair structure. My hair’s overall look and feel definitely improved after using Olaplex Hair Perfector.
How to Use Olaplex 3 Hair Perfector
Apply Olaplex 3 BEFORE washing your hair. Apply Olaplex Hair Perfector to damp hair from root to tip and leave on for at least ten minutes. I left Olaplex 3 on for longer as I was trying out some new skin care products and masks at the same time (pamper night!) Rinse Olaplex 3 from hair, then shampoo & condition as normal.
When to use Olaplex 3 Hair Perfector
Use Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector once per week or twice per week for damaged hair. I have been using Olaplex No. 3 once per week and this is enough for me.
I highly recommend this Olaplex Treatment for noticeable results after just one wash. See my Olaplex 3 before and after results below.
I began using Olaplex 3 Hair Perfector in early March 2020.
One bottle of Olaplex Hair Perfector has lasted me so many washes. Only a small amount of Olaplex 3 is needed for one hair treatment. I try to do the Olaplex 3 treatment weekly and apply about 10-30 minutes before I am going in the shower to wash my hair. You can see my Olaplex 3 before and after photos below.

While these definitely are amazing products for using after you wash your hair, Olaplex No. 3 can be used alone to get amazing results. Olaplex 6 and Olaplex 7 are like the icing and cherry on the top 🙂

As I mentioned above in my Olaplex 3 review, if you are only buying one product, I would buy Olaplex 3. The results from Olaplex Hair Perfector are amazing. Olaplex No 6 is also a really great product as you can tell from my Olaplex 6 review below, however, I always see most results from hair treatments.
If you are wondering about Olaplex 3 or 6, then pick Olaplex 3 and if you love the results. Treat yourself to Olaplex 6 at a later point if you only want to buy one Olaplex product now. The Olaplex products work amazingly as a system, however, Olaplex 3 will definitely show you results if used on it’s own.
When deciding whether to buy Olaplex No. 3 or No. 6, it is important to note that Olaplex 3 is used before you wash your hair as a treatment. Olaplex 6 is used after you wash your hair and you leave it on like a styling product.
Olaplex 6 protects your hair after you wash it where as Olaplex 3 really repairs the hair before washing. As you can see Olaplex 3 and 6 are both very helpful.
For best results, you can use both Olaplex No. 3 and No. 6. If you are choosing between Olaplex 3 or 6, go with Olaplex 3 to really repair damage prior to washing.
In summary, if you are looking into which to buy Olaplex 3 or 6, then go with Olaplex 3 first!

Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother is a leave-in reparative styling cream that you use after washing your hair. The creamy styling product protects all hair types including colored and chemically treated hair.
Olaplex 6 packs MANY benefits including strengthens, hydrates, moisturizes, and speeds up blow-dry times. Olaplex Bond Smoother is also great for smoothing and eliminating frizz and flyaways for up to 72 hours.
Olaplex 6 is very light, creamy & only a little of Olaplex Bond Smoother is needed for results. You can see my Olaplex 6 before and after pictures above.
How to use Olaplex 6 Bond Smoother
Apply a very small amount of Olaplex Bond Smoother to your hair from mid-length to ends & comb through with your fingers or using a comb. I just need a little bit of Olaplex Bond Smoother to hold my curls in place until the next wash.
I put a small pump of Olaplex 6 in my hand and rub the Bond Smoother between my hands to spread evenly throughout my hair. I use scrunching motions to apply Olaplex 6 to my curls, rather than dragging through my hair.
If you have straight hair, you can run Olaplex 6 straight through with your fingers as us curly ladies need to think about the frizz factor with the curls.

When to use Olaplex 6 Bond Smoother
Apply Olaplex 6 Bond Smoother AFTER you wash your hair. Olaplex 6 Bond Smoother lasts up to 72 hours so I only use Olaplex 6 after washing my hair. You can also use Olaplex 6 on dry hair as a top up between washes.
Olaplex 6 is definitely a product that is worth it for really strengthening hair and repairing any damage. Olaplex 3 and 6 both smell amazing. Olaplex 6 is an amazing product and as you can see, the Olaplex 6 before and after photos, above, really show it.

Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil Review
Apply a small amount of Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil to damp or dry hair, style as desired. I also apply a few drops of Olaplex bonding oil between washes to give more shine.
How to use Olaplex bonding oil
Olaplex Bonding Oil can be used daily on wet and dry hair, or before styling with heat. I use Olaplex 7 every three days or so. To give you context on how long this bottle of Olaplex 7 lasts, I have been using the same bottle for a year.
You will have your bottle of Olaplex Bonding Oil for months and months. If you use heat on your hair by drying or styling, Olaplex 7 is a great heat protector. Olaplex Bonding Oil is so good for protecting and repairing.
You know that shine after the hair dressers when your hair looks all sleek and glossy?! This is the shine you will have after Olaplex 7 Bonding Oil.

Olaplex 6 and 7
Another question that I am asked a lot is about Olaplex 6 vs 7. Can you use Olaplex 6 and 7 together? Which should I buy Olaplex 6 and 7 or Olaplex 6 or 7? How are Olaplex 6 and 7 different?
Olaplex 7 is an oil v Olaplex 6 which is a creamy consistency. I find Olaplex 6 really keeps frizz away for me and keeps my hair hydrated. I use Olaplex 7 to add a shine to my hair.
If you are choosing between Olaplex 6 or 7, I would choose Olaplex 6. I love using Olaplex 6 and 7 together by mixing a few drops of Olaplex 7 into Olaplex 6. It also smells amazing. If both Olaplex 6 and 7 are above your budget, then I recommend Olaplex 6.

Olaplex 3 and 7
Seems I get a lot of questions on is Olaplex worth it and which Olaplex products should I buy, I wanted to include this comparison between Olaplex 3 and 7.
Olaplex 3 is a pre wash treatment where as Olaplex 7 is a styling product used for shine, strength and heat protection. If you are choosing between Olaplex 3 and 7, I would choose Olaplex 3.
To me Olaplex 3 is the hero product and you must first treat and repair your hair before you go thinking of adding styling protects. It is however, so important to have a heat protectant such as Olaplex 7 so make sure you are caring for your hair if using heat tools.
In short, Olaplex 3 v 7, choose 3 if you have to choose between them.

Olaplex 8 is the newest addition to my Olaplex reviews. I have been trying out all the other Olaplex products so was so excited to add this Olaplex 8 review.
Overall, I loved this mask a lot and highly recommend using it weekly to restore your hair. My curls were so defined after using it. Olaplex 8 has the patented OLAPLEX Bond Building technology.
Olaplex 8 is a highly concentrated 4-in-1 reparative mask that adds shine & body while providing intense moisture to treat damaged hair.
The good news is that Olaplex 8 is made without sulfates, phthalates, parabens, or gluten. It is vegan and color-safe.
How to use Olaplex 8
Olaplex 8 will replace your regular hair treatment. Apply Olaplex 8 to clean, damp hair mid-length to ends. Use Olaplex 8 AFTER shampooing and use sparingly on the roots. Work Olaplex 8 through with fingers.
Leave Olaplex 8 on for 10 minutes. Rinse fully and style as usual. Olaplex 8 is unique in that it absorbs into your hair and does not sit on top like traditional masks. As a result of this, a little of Olaplex 8 goes a long way.
Use 1-2 pumps of Olaplex 8 for fine or shoulder length hair and use 3 pumps of Olaplex 8 for thick or longer hair. You can see how much hair I have and I use three pumps of Olaplex 8.
How is Olaplex 8 different to other Olaplex and Olaplex 3 v 8?
This is the first Olaplex product that is a mask. Olaplex 3 is a pre shampoo wash and Olaplex 6 and 7 are post wash styling products. This was one product that I was really looking forward to that met my expectations.
I love using Olaplex 8 and am definitely going to continue using it along with my other Olaplex products. I would recommend both Olaplex 3 and 8. If you have to choose between Olaplex 3 or 8, then I would choose any of them as they both work to really repair the hair.
