When deciding whether to buy Olaplex No 7 v No 6, it is important to note that Olaplex 7 is used after you shampoo your hair as a hair mask. Olaplex 6 is used after you wash and mask your hair as a styling treatment.
Olaplex 6 is a creme and Olaplex 7 is an oil.

Deciding on Olaplex 6 or 7
Now that you know the difference between Olaplex 6 and 7, it is hopefully easier for you to decide on Olaplex 6 or 7. The most important question to ask when deciding between Olaplex no 6 vs no 7 is to check if you want a cream or an oil.
Olaplex no 6 is a good starting point. I find this controls my hair better when used alone versus just using the Olaplex 7 oil. Both Olaplex 6 and 7 will work to repair the hair. Our hair gets damaged from color, too much sun, brushing too roughly, pool water, cold weather and much more.
If you have to choose between Olaplex 6 or 7, I would choose Olaplex 6. If you don’t have to decide between Olaplex 6 vs 7 and can afford both, then I would invest in both Olaplex 6 and Olaplex 7. A little goes a long way and Olaplex 6 and 7 work amazingly together to repair and strengthen your hair.

I have a full Olaplex review here where I go through in detail how to use Olaplex 6 and how to use Olaplex 7.
It is easy to use Olaplex 6 and 7 together.
To use Olaplex 6: Apply Olaplex 6 to mid-length to ends, comb through and style as desired. Start with ½ pump of Olaplex for shoulder-length hair. Use more for longer, thicker hair and less for fine or short hair.
To use Olaplex 7: Apply a small amount to damp or dry hair, style as desired.
I often add a pump of Olaplex 6 into my hand. Then add a few drops of Olaplex 7 and mixx them together. This makes sure that the oil is distributed throughout your hair easily.

More top tips to keep your hair in amazing condition
Hair is most vulnerable when it is wet so it is important that you treat it with care when drying it (no vigorous hair drying with a towel)! I love the new Cozy Earth hair towel. It ties neatly on your head and allows the water to soak into the towel with no rubbing. This saves your hair mechanical damage. My Cozy Earth discount code CE-LORNA gets you 40% off everything on Cozy Earth including this hair towel.
I also LOVE their new silk pillowcase. It is so soft and gentle on your hair. Friction with cotton also causes breakage so a silk pillowcase is a great investment. Silk pillowcases also help with reducing frizz. Curly hair tends to get frizzy with the friction of cotton, but silk will help the hair glide instead. You can get this silk pillowcase for 40% off using my Cozy Earth discount code CE-LORNA for a limited time. Read more about the benefits of silk pillowcases.
