The first step in the Olaplex 0 and routine is Olaplex 0.

Olaplex No. 0 strengthens weakened bonds deep within the hair strand using Olaplex’s key ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. Olaplex 0 works to repair the hair from chemical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental damage.
How to use Olaplex 0?
Olaplex 0 is the FIRST Olaplex product that you should apply. Apply Olaplex 0 slowly to dry hair, distributing evenly from root to tip.
Work Olaplex No. 0 into small sections by squeezing the liquid into your hair to be fully absorbed as you go. Lightly saturate your hair from root to tip. After using Olaplex 0, your hair should be damp, not drenched.
How long do you leave on Olaplex 0 for?
Olaplex 0 should be left on for 10 minutes to process. Do NOT rinse out before applying Olaplex 3 as Olaplex 0 is used to prime the hair for Olaplex 3 Hair Perfector (that is the whole purpose of the product).

Second Product in the Olaplex 0 and 3 routine: Olaplex 3
Olaplex 3 goes really well with Olaplex 0. Olaplex 0 was made specifically to prep and prime the hair for Olaplex 3 so Olaplex 3 could really work its magic. Olaplex 3 is a pre-shampoo hair treatment that reduces breakage and split ends for visibly stronger hair.
Olaplex 3 is great for frizzy hair, is color safe and is a great choice for tackling damage, split ends and breakage. Olaplex 3 reduces breakage and split ends, visibly strengthens hair and restores healthy appearance and texture.
Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate is the hero ingredient in Olaplex 3, is patented and a proven technology to help repair broken bonds for stronger hair.
How to use Olaplex 3
Olaplex 3 is used AFTER Olaplex 0 as the second Olaplex product.
Apply a generous amount of Olaplex 3 from roots to ends on damp, towel-dried hair. If you have used Olaplex 0 before using Olaplex 3, then your hair is ready to go. Do NOT rinse your hair after using Olaplex 0.
Once you have Olaplex 3 in your hair, comb through once and leave on for a minimum of 10 minutes or more. I usually do a face mask as I leave on.
After 10 minutes or so, rinse Olaplex 3 from your hair. Follow with your regular shampoo. Olaplex does recommend that you use their Olaplex 4 shampoo after Olaplex 0 and 3.
If you want to splurge and buy Olaplex 4 also, then do. There is no need to have every single Olaplex product to see results. Your regular shampoo will do (once it is a good quality shampoo!).
I do love using Olaplex 4. A little goes a long way with Olaplex shampoo as it is highly concentrated.
After using Olaplex 3 hair protector, you will see dramatic results, even after using this as a standalone treatment. My hair feels in the best condition after using Olaplex 3. This professional-inspired treatment will work even on brittle hair or severely damaged hair.

Start with two pumps of Olaplex No. 8 for shoulder length hair. Use more for longer, thicker hair. Use less Olaplex 8 for fine or short hair.
How long do you leave Olaplex 8 on for?
Leave Olaplex 8 on for 10 minutes. Rinse Olaplex 8 fully and style as usual. I do not use Olaplex No. 5 conditioner when I use Olaplex No. 8 as Olaplex 8 is a reparative hair mask that can replace your conditioner on wash day.

Then, use Olaplex 3 and leave it on for 10 minutes. Shampoo your hair. It’s optional to use Olaplex 8 for a boost of hydration. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse. Style your hair as usual.

There is no point using Olaplex 0, 3 and 8, and then exposing your hair strands to a styling tool, such as a curling iron, without the appropriate heat protection. This will reverse your hard work!
How often should you use Olaplex 0 and 3 together?
I would recommend doing this about once per week for about 2 weeks initially. Then use Olaplex 0 and 3 twice per month after that. I use a hair mask like Olaplex 8 every week as my hair gets really dry and frizzy if I don’t have enough moisture.
You can use Olaplex 0 and 3 every week but if I follow this routine about twice per month, I see great results and that is sufficient to keep my hair looking and feeling healthy. Your Olaplex products will last longer if you space out your at home treatments like this.
I highly recommend using Olaplex 0, 3 and 8 together. When I use these Olaplex products together, it is similar to (and as good as) expensive salon treatments. The difference is you can have salon treatments at home for months for a fraction of the cost of regular treatments in a salon. Your hair bonds will thank you! These hair products are 100% worth it.

If you are wondering, about Olaplex 0 vs 3, this question is for you! Olaplex 0 works to prime the hair so Olaplex 3 can be even more efficient. Olaplex 3 still works without Olaplex 0. Olaplex 0 is not recommended to be used alone. It should always be used with Olaplex 3.
If you can just buy one then buy Olaplex 3 as that is the hero Olaplex product. If I am short on time, sometimes I use Olaplex 3 on it’s own and this gives me great results as it is an intensive bond building treatment.
Does Olaplex 3 work without 0?
As I mentioned above, Olaplex 3 works without 0. You can use both Olaplex 3 and 0 together to get great results but Olaplex 3 will work on it’s own.
